We are excited that our team was awarded funding from the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) initiative! We want to understand cognitive impairments in Parkinson’s disease and how aggregation of the pathological protein α-synuclein impacts cortical connectivity and function. Our team is truly multidisciplinary, with joint efforts by Mike Higley and Elena Gracheva at Yale, Laura Volpicelli-Daley at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Mike Henderson at the Van Andel Institute. Here, we raise our glasses to investigate synaptic and neuronal vulnerabilities in PD and how they impact cognition. A news release is here.
