Short Biography
I studied Biology with a specialization in Forensic Genetics at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I then moved to University of Goettingen where I obtained my PhD in neuroscience through IMPRS Molecular Biology and NEUREST. I now use the mouse visual system as a paradigm for experience-dependent changes in synaptic structure and function, and a variety of different tools to address these changes. My postdoctoral research in the Biederer lab was focused on the molecular basis of synaptic plasticity, specifically on the roles of adhesion in activity-dependent synapse remodeling.
